What is an OB-GYN?
An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, has expertise in female reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth. OB-GYNs also provide routine medical services and preventive screenings.
Obstetrics is the medical discipline that focuses on pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care. Gynecology deals with female reproductive health.
Our specialists and staff provide world-class expertise in the specialties and subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology.
At Shenoy Hospitals, we have a large and distinguished group of health care professionals to provide the broadest range of high-risk services under one roof. Some of the Ob-Gyn related services that we specialize in include:
Precious Pregnancy Management
Trying to conceive month after month with no results can take a physical, emotional, and financial toll on couples. It doesn’t stop there. Once the couples finally conceive, they may be worried about the well-being of the baby and the success of the pregnancy until the child comes to the world. As such, only a couple that highly anticipates the success of the pregnancy can understand how precious it is to them. Precious pregnancy not only comes with complications but also the stress the couples face. Again, Shenoy Hospitals has an expert team of obstetricians and gynecologists who ensure that all complications are managed and a safe delivery is possible.
Fetal Monitoring
Fetal heart rate monitoring is done to measure the heart rate and rhythm of your baby (fetus) continually during the late stages of a high-risk pregnancy. The average fetal heart rate is between 110 and 160 beats per minute. An abnormal fetal heart rate may mean that your baby is not getting enough oxygen or that there are other problems.
Antenatal Monitoring
Antenatal (before birth) testing helps evaluate the well-being of the fetus in late pregnancy. It usually involves electronic fetal heart rate monitoring and ultrasound. Antenatal testing is used in cases where there are risks or problems with delivery or birth defects. To evaluate the health of the mother and baby, a wide range of tests are performed. Results of these tests assist patients and physicians in determining the best course of treatment during pregnancy, delivery, and the first weeks of life.
