Shenoy’s Medical Internship is a novel initiative by Shenoy Hospitals to motivate young minds in taking up the noble profession of being a doctor. Different students from different schools were selected to learn and understand the medical profession in a live hospital ambiance. Students from diverse financial and cultural backgrounds joined as an intern with a single hearted intention towards feeling the real pulse of the hospital life. Some were there out of sheer curiosity, others out of parental influence as well as a few ambitious ones who wanted to see and experience the future for themselves. This year we conducted a 7- Day Medical Internship with Oakridge International School students at Shenoy Hospitals. Students were divided into groups to experience and understand the various departments and procedures. Medical Internship for Students started from 20th May 2019 to 25th May 2019 with a time duration between 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with six talented students. The name of the students were as follows:-

At the Shenoy’s Medical Internship, students were exposed to the various shades of the medical profession. The students were from the X standard. At Shenoy Hospitals, we believe in nurturing this talented generation by giving them an assignment to complete the project on one particular subject as few of the students were selected “MEDICAL FIELD” so as to learn the basics of medical terminology and to get an idea on how does the medical field will help the patient care. This practical experience & in-depth knowledge of medical field has helped the students to decide on a medical field further in future.
Their activities included the following:
- Visiting Out Patient Department
- Visiting Emergency Room
- Visiting Diagnostic Center
- A Visit to the operation theatre
- Visiting Nurse Stations
- Visiting the In-patient wards
- Learning CPR techniques, hand wash techniques and taking vitals (like BP reading, Pulse reading etc.)
- Learning about Premature baby cares, incubators, ventilators, photo-therapy,
- Learning about the Nutritional foods and Junk foods
- Observing the hi-tech hospital machines
- Discussion with specialist doctors
At the end of the program, students were awarded Certificates of Participation & they shared their experience of internship at Shenoy Hospitals as their biggest learning experience.
